well, maybe i misunderstood. i'm reading music at university, 3rd year, so i'm pretty sure i've had the training. and you're right, i could arrange stuff like "colour of love" in my sleep. this would be a bit more of a headache, to say the least. i'm not the markitect.

I did NOT say that you couldnt appreciate this if you didnt have formal musical training. Boyz II Men, and please, tell me if you have had the musical training to really distinguish between the harmonies used in this song, and harmonies used in a song like "Color of Love" or "On Bended Knee". Of course this song sounds beautiful, and those ones do to. But I know very unusual chord structure when I hear it.

Obviously you didnt read my post carefully. Or i didnt make myself clear. To sing chords like this takes musical training. I didnt say you couldnt appreciate music. I NEVER said you couldn appreciate it. So dont try to put words in my mouth. And i meant this in regards to comparing this group to a group like Boyz II Men who has chord structure relatively less complex then this song.

I didn't say it was better...i just stated that someone with a deeper knowledge might have a different opinion and/or appreciation than someone else who is not knowledgeable in that area. The person with the "ear" might know how difficult it is to put some things together versus something else that just sounds "good". IF something is hard to do musically and sounds good, I get more excited than just hearing something your average harmony that any decent singing group can do
