I watched the Sydney Symphony Orchestra play this a few weeks ago - i sat right behind the brass and percussion to get the full force of it blasting through me - if you haven't seen it played live ( along with Symphony No 11 ) then you haven't lived!

This is a total kick-ass performance. Its nice to know that it is Rudolf Barshai. I used to see him conduct the Vancouver Symphony.
