Rick Burgess, of the Rick & Bubba Show, took the opportunity to speak at the memorial service for his son William Bronner Burgess (also known as Cornbread on the show). Bronner had accidentally drowned in the swimming pool at their house. Rick delivers a powerful message showing his family's strong faith in God and helps us to understand what we can do to honor his Father and his son during this earthly tragedy. This is part 1 of 3. Check out www.rickandbubba.com for more on Rick.

Rick, I don't know you or share your faith (I'm Muslim) but when I chanced upon this video, it brought tears to my eyes. I pray to Allah to give you and your family the strength to get through this. Bronner is in heaven with Prophet Abraham; it's where all the children go in the Islamic faith. Be strong. Be safe. And know that someone prays for you and your family from 3000 miles away.

Ryan,if you're reading or any R&B fan, please inform me how this happened. When I lived in Nashville, I became good friends with Rick,Bill(Bubba),Calvin(Speedy),(Don Juan)DeMarco, and yourself. If you look at my login name, it might draw a clue,we hung out together from '99-'03 when I was a DJ.I now live in Phoenix. Thanks!

I heard about this video from Bear Obrine. My prayers are with you. I praise God for those in secular radio and television that are using their lives to be a witness and make an impact on the world.

Amen Rick. I honestly pray that rumplins finds his heavenly father one day. On another topic. I love the show and the fact you and Bubba are not scared to praise God on the show. You have positively influenced my life through this youtube video. Thank you sir. And Thank you Bronner for bringing this message.

Uh, he's a born-again Christian. And Jesus Christ is real and He wants to be your Savior cause Hell-bound sinner. Read John 3 and Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, and 10:9-13. Revelation 3:20. There's plenty proof of Jesus Christ.

rumplins, thank for you concern for me and for your love for the show...i would like to give you a few lessons on how to be decent in situations like this......during the time of a family grieving the loss of a child, one should wait a while before handing down critique of the core beliefs that are holding the family together. I find the fact that you consider JESUS CHRIST a mythical religious figure not only to be historically ignorant but much more sad and tragic than the loss of our child.rb

(rumplins) did you ever stop to think that maybe because he is living in the truth that Jesus is the one that he is drawing his strength from. If we would supress the truth like yourself than how much more tragic would this story be. What would be the point of all this. The fact that this man can stand on the stage and not crumble under pain and anguish is a testemony to the power of God.
