You're right DS9 was a dismal failure, and it did a lot of harm to the franchise. However, Voyager was the apology; much as Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country was the apology for Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. DS9 brought too much doubt and drifted too far from Roddenberry's original vision of the future, that's why it failed. Voyager revived the franchise a little, then Enterprise killed it again; Star Trek Nemesis saved it once again, and hopefully this new one will do it justice

voyager was a good series, but i thought that janeway should have died in the first season and chakotay should have been captain

I come fat this from a different angle. I liked the TOS and TNG, but it just started going downhill from there once Roddenberry died. In fact, he was actively trying to stop Paramount from doing DS9 because he'd said everything he'd wanted to say with TNG. Honestly, I don't blame him. Left in Paramount's hands, they all but killed the franchise. There's only so many different ways you can say the same thing after 40 years, and Paramount's run through all of them. It wouldn't kill them to stop.

To hear them tell it, it was a mutual agreement that she was just wrong for the role, but I think there were subtle hints that it was her attitude. Apparently she was somewhat of a prima donna.

She was so boring in that role. I nearly fell asleep. I don't know if it was the accent, soft voice, or whatever. She don't seem that exciting.

After seeing the teaser trailer for the 11th film was awesome and I think it will be a badass film now. I can't wait to see it and I think it will be good as Batman Begins, the Dark Knight, and Transformers!!! It has the same writers that wrote the Transformers movie and it was an awesome movie!!! So yes, I think it will work and will be a great movie if that is what J.J. Abrams is trying to make!!! Star Trek deserves to be #1 not another failure!!!

Without Star Trek The Original Series and Star Trek The Next Generation then Star Trek Voyager wouldn't ever have been made or possible. Star Trek The Next Generation including the first 6 films were the ones got Star Trek back on its feet. TOS and TNG are both legends now and the best and they are not boring. They are pretty enjoyable much as Star Trek Voyager is. All 5 Star Trek series including the animated series and all 10 Star Trek films are the kings of Sci-Fi in my book.
