So are Paul and Ringo. McCartney's has had
"Ever Present Past" last year, and a newly released set under the name "The Fireman" in the last week. Both VERY hot. Paul also had his classical piece, "ecce cor meum" rated classical disc of the year in 2005. Ringo is up to all Starr band #726, or thereabouts.
Haven't heard from John and George for a while, but we'll forgive them that.

He's right, that is the gods honest truth, John, Paul and George also felt the best Duo, harmonically speaking were the Everley Brothers!! then in four part, the Beach Boys, No offense but not bad praise from the greatest band of ALL time!! at least for now!! Go U2 !!

I remember reading somewhere that McCartney said his goal with Sgt. Peppers was to create an album that came close to matching the perfection of Pet Sounds. I agree the Beatles IMO are a better band, but it is no secret that McCartney considered Brian Wilson a superior musician, and was constantly in his mind "playing catch-up" with Wilson musically.

Beach Boys use of four part harmonies and musical arrangements were unique and admired by fellow bands of that era. The Beatles, particularly Paul McCartney felt Brian Wilson was a musical genius and used his songs to inspire him. |
