It is not a book. Dia just wrote a story (not a book) and then took the lyrics out of the song. The story she wrote was based on East of Eden by John Steinbeck.

They wrote this about a story, not sure if it's real. I forget. It's in their blog, an old post though, you have to search for it. But it's like this little boy is called 'Monster' by his parents, and is forced to called his Mom 'Hannah', and he rapes a girl and then kills himself because of the guilt. That's the short story, not sure if it's all correct, I know it's in an old entry of their blog on Myspace though.
