You should research before posting. Tito Puente clearly stated that HE DID NOT PLAY SALSA BUT SON CUBANO... Salsa is just a commercial name for Son Cubano. Admit it bro and face the truth.

salsa was invented around the late 60 in newyork rican over there. in the bronx el condado de la salsa.tito puente, willi colon, hector la voce fania, they are one to start la salsa did'nt you see the hector lavo movie? in the biggning hechale salcita was ealry rumba have you ever even heard the song? sound nothing like salsa. salsa come from africa don't think so mybe some of the insterments like the conga, bongos, etc but go and check africa and you will never hear anything like salsa
