Celebrating Liturgy at the Ethiopian Orthodox Chapel, part of the building complex that is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, is something quite extraordinary. The church claims its origins from Philip the Evangelist (Acts of the Apostles, chapter 8) and became an established church in the 4th century through the efforts of the Syrian Greek Frumentius. Services are held in the Ge'ez language. The Ethiopian Church is one of the oldest Churches in the world. God bless the Ethiopians!

We are brethren, however the root of the Church is with YHWH (Gods) people the Ethiopian Hebrew Israelites in which YHWH (God) grafted in the Gentiles which made them spiritual Israel..my wife is Russian and here best friends are Armenian and the nicest people I have ever met; we argue over this too, but in a polite way. Peace!

I am sorry friend you are confused in what I said still. I never said Armenians was christian before Ethiopian. But they are first to declare it for whole nation and government. Your thinking to much into my statement and it's very petty. This is foolish to fight over this garbage when should be brothers.

Explain to me then Brshyt (Genesis) 2:13 and 10:6. You are confused; Ethiopians are the House of Israel and the first Christians; if Armenia was the first Christian nation, why did they call the Apostles Christians? You got it mixed up.

I did not get it wrong, they were not a nation yet.

Actually you got it backwards; the Ethiopian Orthodox Tawehedo (Trinity) church was started by the 12 apostles...ever wondered why the Apostles were called Christians in Antioch? Ethiopia (Africa) is the birth place of Christianity not Armenia, Greece or Russia...if Christianity was a European religion, why do not Ethiopians have images of the Gentile Messiah in their churches?

I am not orthodox but I am a roman catholic.. I believe these churches belong to the catholic church.. even they do not recognize the pope but they still having the apostolic traditions and the creed of nicea.. God helps us to understand each other.
