interesting that christian scholars fostered a secular arab natinalism , and than christian colonist and their secular governments move in to colonize the place...and the problem is some how non-arab muslims?

Arab disunity began at the same time unity did. Why? Who should rule. And then they started bringing people from the outside to help them fight for power. Then the outsider took over what he helped earn. Its almost funny but it isn't.
the enemies of the arabs are simple: pride;envy;jealousy;greed;which then breeds ignorance. All b/c one arab wanted to rule and not the other did none of them rule. This is in the history books.
but if we dont admit to this we will repeat it again.

sure...90% of Muslims belong Sunni Islam
but you should know that it has many school of thought, with four main sects..Hanafi, Shafi`i, Maliki and Hanbali and many other theological traditions developed since the early days of Islam. Islam is a rich philosophy and i don't expect scholars to agree on everything. but that by it self doesn't mean that a conflict should exist.

Nonesense, alkawakibi was blind and his ideologies extremely nonsensical. In islam, arabs, non-arabs, black, white, are all equal and the most dear to allah is he who has most taqwa. As long as there is a pious MUSLIM as a Khalifa, then all is well. I am an arab, and these ideologies of supremacy are the factors of downfall to all ambitious countries. We must be muslim brothers, united by our faith, peace and concord.

Al-kawakibi is only being logical, an Arab country should only be ruled by an Arab leader. I would not want an arab leader ruling my country {Somalia} I don't care if he is prophet Mohamed's son or Abu baker himself. Lol he said Islam was corrupted by non-Arabs ok Mr. kawakibi!

why not? So long as they had knowledge on the background and the issues... Europe is FAR from united my friend

look up mesopatamia - although i agree with the non-arab muslim ruling idea though, couldn't care less which background they had so long as they're a good Muslim

The Sykes-Picot Agreement was clearly colonialist in nature, and therefore pernicious. But to blame all arab disunity on this Agreement is as self-defeating as Latin Americans who for decades following the independences of the early 19th century would blame Spain for all their problems and who throughout much of the 20th blamed the USA. All too simplistic - and therefore, as I said, self-defeating in the long run. |
