You know who John Denver reminds me of? Joe Satriani. I'm confident Satriani will be remembered much as John Denver is--as a gentle, happy, pretense- and shenanigan-free guy who just liked making positive music. No props, no grandiose statements, no rock-star self-pity. Just heart.

this song is incredible
and to believe that stupid people thought it was about drugs. It is about the peace of being in nature and seeing a meteor shower
Columbine is a small flower-purple in color that is state flower of Colorado
and that is where the high school got it's name. Now associated with the worst tragedy in high school ever

Amen. John saw beauty everywhere it lay.

This song was amazing, it touches all of our hearts, well those of us who have one. You dont apreciate music and the classics. Even if you hate country, atleast have the self dignity to respect him. And there wouldn't be rock if it wasn't for country. Just think about it next time before you post a hateful comment about him.

Yeah, I know. I lived for a while within sight of the Grand Tetons. It's hard to beat Rocky Mountain scenery for pure drama. But what I've learned, partly from listening to John Denver's music, is that there is beauty everywhere on this earth. So I look for it and appreciate it in the places I live and visit. I think he'd smile to know his music had that affect on me.

The only real connection was the word "Columbine" happened to be in the song title and the name of the school where the shootings took place.

IMHO, Wisconsin does not hold a candle to the absolutely breathtaking vistas of Colorado, such as Estes Park and Long's Peak. And Wisconsin is my home state. |
