One payer system is the only way to go. Private health insurance is a private tyranny that only exists in United States. It's a rather barbaric system that tells you you're health is only worth what you can afford. People in United States should get behind, and support, HR 676. If you don't know what it is learn about it! GM & Ford are going bankrupt because of the rising cost of health care. If United States had single-payer system, the companies wouldn't have to worry about it.

not being one who wants to pay the government 2 dollars to make a buck, and just throwing this out there, what is wrong with local hospitals handling local health care. its a system practically in place already. local hospital collects payments from local residents. local hospital provides local health care. if there was 50,000 residents paying into the local hospital just $50/month that equals what?

"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years." - Madison

Hillary tried in the 90s, but was bought by lobbyists to stop pushing universal healthcare and remain silent. Edward's wife develops cancer, he decides to have an affair with a healthy woman, here he gets uppity. Barack....well, there will be something later. geez, politicians!
