hey my point of view
magazines editiors and all the people involved can do whatever they want to sell magazines.
theyre not hiding the fact that they photoshop photos every knows they do and people need to expect every photo to be.
the insecure young girls need to grow a brain cell or two and realise everythings photoshopped in magazines. get role models from somewhere else

I don't think it will ever be banned on the sole fact that these retouched photos are what sell magazines. I do believe it's dangerous for young influential minds to be subjected to this portrayal of "perfect", but its up to us mothers, aunts and sisters to help them understand fact from fiction.

Photoshop is not the enemy here so much as the way it is used to create an "ideal" body. Barbie Dolls teach young girls that "this is pretty, and this is normal". It just goes from there with magazines and movies, etc, that teach us what we "should" look like.
My wife isn't photoshop (neither am I!), but isn't love greater than what my body "should" look like? And no I'm not fat...I'm actually scrawny. :) PS should just be credited on those pix - it just needs to be accounted for. |
