I obviously don't know for sure or anything but I had always thought what McLean meant by "bye-bye Miss American Pie" was that after the plane crash, America was no longer "America" any longer sense the music was gone.

this rocks and wheres all the good rap and other stupid stuff. this is done by one of the four great artists the others being Elvis Presly,Billey Joel and weird al.
