Actually, according to wikipedia this came before the anime. I also read somewhere (the citation wasn't on wikipedia so I had to search it out), the expressions the anime Onizuka uses were modelled after this guy's.

Wikipedia has further info "Pure Love Gang from Shonan" aka "GTO the early years". The story enlightens the later GTO storyline a lot :)

yeah i finished both manga and anime its really an awesome anime but the manga was better!!ahh..it doesnt matter lol both versions are good but i'm looking for a live shonan junai gumi but so far its gonna take a lotta searching lol if anyone can help TYVM!!!!
