one thing i thought was funny was the JTF2 was too soft to go into Torra Borra with the Green Berets aswell as elements of DEVGRU and SOCCOM, but the SBS STILL WENT! lol....

Delta still specialise in SCUBA and HALO, so they have no problem with variety of capabailities. The SASR is very similar to the SFOD-D in that way, they both built on what the British SAS had and they both had input by soldiers who had been trained by the SAS

That program was dropped after Vietnam (according to my cousin) as it wasnt deemed a priority where the SASR focused more on recon/espionage instead, although they still receive diplomatic training, but as far as i know my cousin never recieved training in that field while he was in, although it may have changed, that was the SASR 1995-2006. But i dont know. Did you know the Green Berets helped form the ANA which routed the Taliban into Torra Borra.

you do realise that the RIP course is far more intense than any ADF infantry course, both in phsyical and mental aspects, the SASR course is only approx 5-6 months long but it doesnt make it any easier. Length isnt really an issue for fitting training in, its the intensity.

pretty sure gsg9 is mostly ct also like delta. but delta isnt always ct, they took out scuds in iraq, put down columbian drug cartels and argentinian ones, and did some work in lebanon

SAS and SASR are roughly equal in the capabilities they share. However, the SASR has all of the SAS capabilities plus a greater range of water based capabilities, so they are slightly above the SAS in that sense. Delta is similar to the SAS, however they specialise mostly in CT, and that detracts from their training in other areas. Not sure about gsg9.
