My Atkins Diet Story

aka how one Iowa guy lost over 200 pounds and gained his life back. I can not say enough about how positively the Atkins Diet and low carb in general has been for me. I went from a 429 pound guy who could barely make it up a flight steps to a guy running half marathons and rejoining the National Guard. My health is fantastic, and my blood work (cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, heart) could not be better.

My suggestion is to pick a diet that enables you to eat healthy foods as opposed to starving yourself. Your skin does snap back - some more than others (age and exercise play a large role). Atkins Diet certainly helps play a role by providing you healthy foods and fatty acids to allow your skin to heal.

I want to lose weight but I'm concerned about the skin....Does it become flabby and goes down???? Or it sticks with you?? I want to lose 40 lbs...but I don't know which plan to use!!! Help!! Please!!

Lo carb is where it's at, folks. Congrats, man. My husband Ric was 312, ready to keel over from diabetes/fat/you name it. Two years later he's 200 and still dropping, off all his diabetic meds, looking good and blood pressure/cholesterol down where they belong. Nobody can diss the Atkins regimen in my book. It works. Period. Go, man go!!

O.K. thanks for your uselesse words. Low Carbers will continue to feel happy and satisfied with their bodies and health whereas "your" dietas will continue to led people to nowhere. That's nice, and you are still unfortunately wrong about the unhealthy nature of saturated fats, the prodigious amounts of cheese, and the too much protein of the diet (this is high fat diet not a high protein diet). It's fine if you don't want to eliminate your misconceptions and ignorance. 4 years of excellent blood, urinalysis, and heart workups hasn't proved me wrong yet. Nor have the growing amount of studies like the new Israeli. Good luck to you.
