actually i already told you what is similar. its the palm muting on the guitar. its an extremely common thing in songs like these, even in this generation of music. the strumming pattern for both songs is also an extremely basic and common pattern. neither is a rip off of anything but they use the same technique as many other guitarists throughout the years.
