Try out match for the american dragon bryan danielson vs. a very young John Cena. Match took place on the February 8th 2003 broadcast of velocity. Q: It's funny: You can go to youtube and see your WWE Velocity match with John Cena. How do you reflect on that bout and did you have any inkling that in four years you would be the industry's top independent wrestler and he would be WWE's top star? Danielson: "At the time, we didn't even know we were going to have the match. It kept getting canceled. About 10 or 15 minutes before that [Velocity] show was supposed to go on the air, someone said, 'Hey, can you guys wrestle?' I don't really remember the match but I do remember at the time the payday was cool. Q: Why have you decided to remain with ROH and tour Japan rather than try to land with WWE or TNA? Danielson: "One of the big things people don't understand is for a lot of WWE guys on TV who aren't on all the pay-per-views and working the undercards, I make more money than them in Ring of Honor and doing Japan. Plus, I'm not really in wrestling to make tons of money. I do it because it's fun with the added benefit of getting good money. It's not like I'll never consider going to WWE but more like I really enjoy what I'm doing. There's no reason for me to change, I really respect what Ring of Honor is doing with a company where I know the boss. We talk all the time and have a personal relationship. It's a totally different atmosphere than WWE where you're dealing with politics and all those things."

like him again and bam, you have him being cheered like crazy, which isnt a heel's job. Cena is massively over right now, why turn him heel when there is nothing wrong? He is 100x better than this Denielson. Wrestling isnt only about the moves you do, but about the story you tell, the way you draw the fans in and bring in the atmosphere. Cena does that the best, he sells the best in the ring and tells the story perfectly.

Forgotten Flash, you do really have no idea. You talk about the ratings at an all time low and him coming back and winning the title straight away, you just answered the solution to the ratings problem. The two weeks Cena has been back the ratings have jumped from 2.9 to 3.4. Now of course Vince is going to give the title to Cena when he is your number one guy and things need lifting, his the man to do it. LOL, turning him heel will be essentially turning him face again because people will start

LOL TheForgottenFlash you crack me up. Where did you learn about wrestling, from a Wrestling for Dummies guide? Seriously, your knowledge of wrestling is seemingly non-existent. Any knowledgeable wrestling fan, and anyone who has been in the business would (and has) tell you that Cena is one of the best workers in the world. And this is coming from Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and Vince McMahon. You don't seem to understand anything about wrestling.

You can be an American and not necessarily have UK ancestry. Being A Black American, there is no one of English, Scottish, Welsh or Irish decent in my bloodline. Oh, and the guys above are really just arguing over nothing.

Hey, neither did Hogan's for the NWO. It still worked. What Cena lacks in his ability he could easily make up with in a heel faction.

Im not disagreeing with you, but do you really think a heel Cena will boost ratings? Maybe for a short time, but it won't change a thing. Whether he's a heel or face, his ring style won't change.

Man Bryan carried Cena this whole match. Now honestly at a time where Brock Lesnar is the champ and everyone's trying to up their game what sounds like a better main event? Brock vs someone with low wrestling ability and inexperience OR someone who was trained by William Regal, is an amazing wrestler and is THE BEST IN THE WORLD. My guess would be THE NEXT BIG THING VS THE BEST IN THE WORLD. WWE drops the ball once again.

Dude, he got a title shot out of the blue, wins in a lackluster match, comes back and gives the same generic speech "I do it for the fans". Maybe instead of doing talk shows on his time off he should study and work on his ring ability. A heel change is deffinatly in order. It's what the fans really want. I understand it may not be what the kids want but when the ratings are at an all time low and your fan base is depleating there's nothing to lose.

morjoc I think the dragon would have beat Cena if he had stayed on that left arm... Good match ...

yes its entertaining but whats your problem? Just because you love cena, that doesnt mean his good. Hogan is one of the most loved guys ever and he never knew a shit about giving a good match. If I pay, I want to be entertained yes, but this is WRESTLING, so i want good wrestlers giving me good matches.
