The liberian government is a shame, sirleaf is behaving like whore to these companies. I understand the restrictions from the IMF but they got to have the balls to say no to these giants. It is morally wrong to enable such horror. Chavez like revolution is much needed in African countries

I blame the leaders in Liberia.

Shame on Firestone and on all kind of exploitation in the world! Corruption is a plague like AIDS or diseases caused by smoking... It's not only the explotation. The biggest problem is the polution, and the diseases caused by the water polution!

I think we need to clarify responsibilities between Firestone & the Government. If those homes have no running water or toilets isn't that more about the lack of infrastructer in Liberia? In order to have toilets you'd need a developed and well maintained sewage system. Isn't that more on the Liberian gov't?

Those children should be in school! What an ignorant statement of Dan (whatever) of Firestone. But exploiting the ignorant, poor people is not a new story.
