Hitting the reef was not the crew's biggest mistake. The captin put the ship in reverse and made the whole bigger. This is what lead to the ship sinking.

A girl and her father died in their cabin when the ship hit the reef... I dont think the cheesy music is really appropriate.
Wikipeda reports that there was a mistake on the maps and the reef was shown much deeper than it really is. Looks like this may not have been the crews fault and every cruise ship that has entered this harbour may have been at risk.
